Poetry Boot Camp

Jump start your new year the write way by joining up for February Is the Cruelest Month: Poetry Boot Camp! During this three-week online class, you’ll generate new poems in response to three weekly prompts and share your work in a close, supportive atmosphere. You’ll leave with plenty of work in progress and an expanded sense of what’s possible in your poetry.

Limited to ten participants. Cost: $90

February 17-March 9.

Less Is More: Writing Micro

Registration is open now for the March 2020 Less Is More: Writing Micro! The four-week, online class will be limited to ten participants in order to guarantee an experience that is both fun and productive.

Here’s how it will go down: During the first two weeks of class, you’ll generate micros (fewer than 300 words) in response to each of six prompts. Each prompt will be preceded by a brief published piece as well as a short discussion of the aspects of craft — characterization, setting, point of view, structure, and beginnings – that are key to an effective piece of prose.

During weeks three and four, you’ll revise and share two of your prompts in an informal workshop setting that (I promise!) will be both constructive and helpful.

Class will officially start on Monday, March 30 and conclude on Monday, April 27. Cost is $110.

How to Enroll

To reserve your spot in either workshop, please e-mail me at sfreligh@gmail.com with the name of the workshop in your subject line and I’ll respond with your official course confirmation as well as information on how to pay. I’m also happy to answer any and all questions you may have.

Thanks in advance. Look forward to working with you in 2020!
